TRC 2º ESO C+D BILINGÜE: WIND INSTRUMENTS

Continuing with the instruments of the orchestra, we are going to meet WIND INSTRUMENTS.

Go to pages 82 and 83 of your book and read them carefully. Be sure that you understand every word you read and look for those you don´t know. After reading the two pages, come back here, watch the videos, and answer the questionnaire.

THE MOST IMPORTANT THING IN WIND INSTRUMENTS IS THE MOUTHPIECE BECAUSE IT DETERMINES THE TIMBRE OF THEIR SOUND.

Here you have the woodwind family playing by sections. Every section has the same type of mouthpiece. Remark that the sound of every section has a particular timbre.

And here you can see and listen to all the woodwind instruments separately.

Now, listen to the brass family.

And here you have them separately.

Finally, here you have the most complete wind instrument: the organ. Usually, there is no organ in an orchestra, but there is always one in the important churches and, of course, in all the cathedrals, where sometimes you can even find more than one organ, enormous as buildings.
